Air compressor needs more cmf?

I have a 2hp 100ltr compressor the air displacement is about 9cmf but its to low to run my plasma cutter that needs 11cmf is there a way of increasing the air displacement.

    sometimes ,if you can’t afford a larger compressor,you can get a larger resivoir and then it will run for you a while,till the compressor has to kick in and start airing up that large resivoir…. a big tank will be good,and then rest up till the compressor fills it,again…..and you can set the gov to 120 ,and it will help to….i have a cutter and it uses a bunch more air than my impact,but i will get me another air tank and hook it up with the other ones,and it will handle my cutter………..try it,my friend.. jcr

    The previous answer about an auxiliary air tank to increase the displacement is your only cheap band-aid. Eventually you will need a bigger comressor so be prepared to buy one. K R

    Buy a bigger motor. 3hp is the most you can run on a single phase supply, fit a larger motor pulley, in your case a third larger diameter would give 12 cfm. it will also wear out a third faster tho! cedley1969
