Why won’t my air compressor turn on for my air suspension on my 96 lincoln continental?

I know they make a conversion kit for it but im trying to just get it off of the ground until I can afford the conversion kit? Please help me get it off the ground.

Rear quarter panal has air compressor that runs, yet doesn’t work in the shocks. So I want to get new air shocks that I can add air to when needed, but want to hook it up to original compressor . Will this work, or do I have to disconnect compreesor and add line in/ out for air? Can’t even ride with anyone over 90 pounds and this lowers the rare conciderably
