If you box it in this will cut the noise level in half or more,be sure to add a door.and add a foam board to the in side to lower the noise level even more. papamoe

u put it in a box and it will over heat and burn it out ,,it NEEDS air circulating to keep cool gas man

For the cost of doing this, it will be cheaper to buy you a less noisy air compressor. You can’t box it in or it will burn up your compressor. The only way to eliminate the noise is to build a sound-proof room just for the compressor. It would not have to be very big but would need to circulate the air and allow for heat to escape but again, unless you can get the material cheap enough it will cost you more than a compressor that is quiet to begin with. Hope this works. contractorman_34

Put it outside and run iron or plastic pipe from the compressor into the garage. you can run T the pipes and get several air outlets wherever you want them reducing the length of hose that you need.

in most climates you will need to keep the compressor dry so a little roof over it is a good idea.

Otherwise look into screw style compressors instead of piston operated ones.
just be ready for a little sticker shock Joel
