I had the air conditioning compressor replaced on my car and it failed within the 12 month warranty period?
The clutch went out on the compressor and the shop is replacing the part. However, they say that the labor is only warrantied for 90 days and want to charge me $200 in labor cost to replace the compressor that was warrantied. How can they charge me labor for a part that they installed that went bad; especially since the part is warrantied.

They are warranting the compressor. Just not the labor. Labor is covered for 90 days not 12 months. Common practice.. Shops set there own policy……………If it had failed in 90 days part and labor would be covered…………..md Uncle Jed
better find out if that is to recharge system or is that extra/dealing with bunch of ripoffs/if its waranteed it is /if not? rip offs do business this way/gotta read everything/if it aint in writing make it in writing /no partial waRRanty ken k
Well did the repair shop manufacture the part that went bad?? If they correctly installed a part and the part failed, they are not at fault. The part manufacturer is at fault and they only cover labor cost for 90 days. I might add that is 60 days longer than most manufacturers. I know it is frustrating to pay for labor again. Keep in mind that the shop will probably pay for the warranty part up front. Then fill out a warranty form, submit that form. Then wait for 45 days to get reimbursed for that part. Eldorado
