This is a fairly new compressor which uses no oil, and use to work okay. The liquid bleeder is tight, and I find no other obvious leaks. Any Idea of what the problem may be?
Also I couldn’t find a Better category to place this question under such as “Tools/Power Tools/ etc.”

I’ve changed the fuse numerous times, but still no luck. The compressor clutch turns smooth if I turn it by hand. There are no leaks of any kind and the system is charged. I’ve checked the relays and they work fine. I’m thinking is the compressor going bad, but not sure, please help!

Come on now asked:

I have a 26 gallon 1.7 HP oil-free air compressor that has a really slow leak. Its been leaking ever since I bought it new, but I never got around to finding it. After about a week fully charged the tank will be empty. Its not the hose, because it still leaks even when its not hooked up. Any ideas?

I have a 3 HP 15 Gallon Craftsman Air Compressor that I bought used. It is electric and supposedly “oil-free”. When I plug it in and switch it on everything appears to work normally however the regulated side of the compressor will only go up to about 23-25 PSI and the tank guage will only go up to about 20-22 PSI. I have checked the drain valve and other areas where connections are made and can’t find any leaks from the tank or regulator. Furthermore the motor never cuts off – it will run forever if I let it. I even let it run for 15-20 minutes straight and once the guages got up to the above readings, they stopped and the motor kept running. Is the compressor or other part of the motor just shot or am I overlooking something here?

why does my air compressor trip the breaker. the motor works fine with the belt off. the compressor wheel is h?

the compressor wheel is still hard to turn even with the belt off. we have wondered if there is too much head pressure that is not being released for start up. it has oil. the intake is clean. the limit comes on at 90 psi and goes off at 120 psi. fixed some small leaks on the air line.

What is wrong with my Air compressor and if so, can I fix it myself? I really can’t afford a new one?

Basically I have a Pancake Porter cable air compressor, the one that runs @90 PSI with a max of 150. Out of nowhere yesterday, the compressor motor just wouldnt stop running. The motor sounded fine and kept working but the pressure stayed at about 60 and took a really long time to even work up to that pressure. Its as if the motor is working just as hard as it normally does but the pressure doesnt go up at all. Has anyone else had this problem? And is there anyway to fix it myself? I have no major problems and I checked for leaks everywhere and there were none(i would notice them anyway). Please help! I cant frame a house working with 60 psi!!!
