Air conditioning compressor locked up on a 97 cavalier?
i was looking at A/C bypass pullies and they only have 1 for the 2.2L, i have a 2.4L Z24, also the belt connects only the alternator, the compressor, and the crankshaft so i dont see how i could put a smaller belt on and bypass the compressor. (look at fig. 8 on this site) http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker?ForwardPage=az/cds/en_us/0900823d/80/19/12/40/0900823d80191240.jsp what should i do? fixing the compressor isnt an option, too expencive.
wouldent running a smaller belt cause the belt tor rub at the tentioner?

how does a portable (gas powered) air compressor work?
i want to build a portable gas powered air compressor ( i have already buildt a 60g 110v air compressor for home that works just fine no problems). on regular compressor you plug them inick, turn on the switch and thats it. compressor starts shuts off at regulated psi. while using compressor, pump and starter cuts in at regulated psi. by itself repetes over to keep regulated psi in tank. well if tou have to pull a draw string to start a gas powered compressor and it starts compressing air. what happens when it reaches desired psi or when pressure drops and has to fill up again. do i have to manually start this thing every timepsi gets psi gets low ? or how does it start again without me having to manualy start it? or does it stay running all the time? do i need any special or different valves or something? or just HOW DOES IT WORK?

Having trouble with air conditioner? It is running but with a very low flow of air. Sure enough, I go outside and the air compressor isn’t running.

‘00 mustang makes a noise (like something’s loose) they said it could be the air compressor can that be true?
the noise get’s louder&worse whenever i turn on my A/C and step on the gas… what kind of noise does an air compressor do whenever it’s messed up? Also anyone has an estimate of how much does all this fixing cost?
oh, forgot to mention, the noise is present only when running, if it’s on, say like on a stop, the noise is not there at all…
02 F Windstar replaced the air conditioning compressor – is the clutch apart of compressor?
one month ago i replaced the compressor – when running the air it is making a dragging noisy – very loud. Could it be the clutch? Is the clutch apart of the compressor?
